Leonard da Vinci, the forgotton project : Romorantin.
Leonard da Vinci came to France in 1516 to
work for the young king Francis the 1st on a magnificent project :
an ideal city and a magnificent royal palace on the border of the
Sauldre river
at Romorantin.
Unfortunately leonardo died in 1519 too soon to be able to realize this dream.
New discoveries in local archives have been able to reconsider his last works
and assure that the buildings had started.
An international symposium was held in Romorantin on June 5 and 6
featuring the world specialits of Leonardo and Carlo Pedretti.
From June 9th 2010 until January 31th 2011 an
exhibition will be
presenting on the project
in town.
Package "Leonardo"
to enjoy your stay in Romorantin with a gastronomical dinner and
tickets to the exhibition
at 420 € (1 night for 2 person).
